From Sep 27th through Nov 10th, 2006Miami Dade College Art Gallery System opens the 2006-2007 season with the exhibition A Well Kept Secret; 40 Years of Collecting at MDC. This exhibition features a comprehensive selection of works from the MDC permanent collection and commemorates forty years of art collecting at the institution. The college-wide exhibit will take place at the Centre Gallery, Gallery North, Kendall Gallery, and the Homestead Campus Art Space. The program is presented in collaboration with the Arts and Philosophy Departments of Kendall, North and Wolfson Campuses. A series of related cultural events will take place during the period of the exhibition including lectures on art collecting, a review of modern and contemporary art in Miami, film screenings showing important trends in the arts scene from the 60’s to the 90’s as well as a four-part concert series looking back at forty years of music in Miami.
