From Jul 19th through Jul 23rd, 2006The American Black Film Festival (ABFF) is a five-day retreat and international film market dedicated to strengthening the independent black filmmaking community. The ABFF created a platform to showcase the cinematic work of independent artists of vision and emerging talent. Having screened more than three hundred and fifty films since its inception, the festival questions, redefines, discovers and explores artistic excellence through sharing stories beyond the stereotypical portrayals of black and urban lifestyles. This year the festival celebrates its 10th Anniversary featuring film competitions, workshops, panels, symposiums, parties and more. Filmmakers, actors, industry executives, journalists and the film-loving public offer a creatively charged atmosphere where serious networking happens. For more information, please call: 212.966.2411
