From Apr 27th through Apr 30th, 2007From the organizers of Art Miami comes the newest art fair in the country: artDC, which will premiere in Washington, D.C. from April 27th through 30th, 2007. Being the first modern and contemporary art fair in that state, artDC will bring together eighty international galleries from Europe, Asia and the Americas, as well as a host of curators, museum directors, educators and arts professionals. Emphasizing Washington, DC as a center for cultural tourism, the targeted audience, especially in this inaugural year, will be the surrounding metropolitan area, extending to Richmond, Baltimore, Philadelphia and New York. Partnering with local museums and arts institutions, artDC will present an enriching educational program and off-site activities in collaboration with select embassies, sponsors, and active members of the local cultural scene. Galleries invited to participate on this premiere include Galerie Marion Meyer from Paris, andArtcore/Fabrice Marcolini from Toronto, Red Star Gallery from Beijing and Shine Art Space from Shanghai as well as Sundaram Tagore Gallery and Westwood Gallery both from New York, Frey Norris Gallery from San Francisco, Kunsthaus, Hardcore Art Contemporary, Reed Savage, Cernuda Arte and Adamar South at Pop N’ Art from Miami altogether with the most selective Washington galleries such as Conner Contemporary Art, Robert Brown Gallery, Douz & Mille, Curator’s Office and G Fine Art.
