February, 2007The Arts at St. Johns, in recognition of its new designation as “Junior Arts Anchor” organization by the Miami Beach Cultural Arts Council, announces that it is creating a new advisory board and is seeking new board members. The designation of “Junior Arts Anchor” has been given to four smaller arts organization that have year-round artistic and cultural programming that contributes significantly to the cultural life of the City of Miami Beach. At the turn of the century — the 21st century, that is — the Arts at St. Johns sprung forth as a new neighborhood arts program. The goal of the organization is to provide a forum for arts events designed and presented by local artists. Their mission is “Arts with a Message” – arts for social dialogue, building community, social change, and social, spiritual and personal healing. They are also looking for volunteers who would like to help with stage work, networking, communications, and general work at events. All volunteers get free admission at events for themselves and a friend. For more information, please call: 305.613.2325
