From Jun 9th through Jul 12th, 2007ArtSouth presents three exhibitions this summer. My Own Diversity…So What is a solo exhibition of works by ArtSouth resident artist Sandra Garcia Pardo. The show will feature several sculptural pieces ranging from the abstract to the representation of the male human body. Veteran ArtSouth artist William Vega will be also exhibiting many of his most recent productions in a show titled Rectrospectivo on view in the new ArtSpace gallery. The center will also offer this month one of its most popular programs, Learn and Serve in partnership with Miami Dade Schools. For this program four local high schools send at-risk students to ArtSouth for lessons with resident professional artists, then students must share with the rest of their classmates what they have learned. At the end of the program, the center presents an exhibit featuring the students works in drawing, photoshop, pastels, ceramics and fashion design. The Learn and Serve High School Exhibit will be showing in the Faculty Gallery on the second floor. For more information, please call: 305.247.9406
