From Jan 20th through Jan 21st, 2007The Chopin Foundation of the United States continues their 2006-2007 Chopin Festival Season presenting the Atma Trio in two free concerts on Saturday, January 20, 2007 at 7:00 PM, at the Broward County Main Library in Ft. Lauderdale and on Sunday, January 21, 2007, 3:00 PM, at the Granada Presbyterian Church in Coral Gables. The Atma Trio will perform music by Chopin, Haydn, Wieniawski and Mendelssohn-Bartholdy . The trio began their collaboration as students. Slawomir Dobrzanski, pianist, and Blanka Bednarz, violinist, performed as a duo during their studies at the University of Kansas . Blanka and cellist/husband Cheung Chau met at the New England Conservatory, while pursuing doctoral studies. They have performed in the United States, Poland, Germany and Sweden and are invited to participate in many prestigious festivals, including Days of Szymanowski’s Music in Zakopane, the Chopinesque Confrontations in Chopin Center in Antonin, International Festival of Organ and Chamber Music in Slupsk among many others.
