From Sep 24th through 30th, 2006Leading up to the official Grand Opening festivities, Carnival Center for the Performing Arts is putting kids first, in the audience and on stage, with the weeklong Kidsfest 2006. This event is a kaleidoscope of music, dance and theater, where kids from Miami-Dade County ensembles will perform for other kids Starting with a concert to be held on September 24th at the Knight Concert Hall, children and families will have the opportunity to enjoy performances by the South Florida Youth Symphony, Miami Children Chorus, and Jubilate’s Overtown Urban Classic Hip Pop Orchestra, plus a lively and informative commentary about the music being played. Later on September 28th and 30th at the Studio Theater, New World School of the Arts will host an event showcasing students from the school’s music, theater and dance departments.
