From Nov 10th through Dec 17th, 2006Casa Decor, an international event founded in Spain in 1992, now produces dozens of show houses each year in cities such as Barcelona, Madrid, Seville, Oporto, Milan and London. This November Casa Decor makes its debut for the first time in Miami presenting the works of sixty architecture, design and decoration firms. Casa Decor provides the space and the opportunity for renowned interior designers, decorators and architects to collaborate and present the finest products and most desirable home furnishings in the world. Casa Decor differs from the typical show house in America. Rather than selecting a vacant house, Casa Decor takes a vacant commercial building, sometimes a school, hospital or church, and offers a design space much larger and more complex than anything found in the limited confines of a residence. Spaces within the building will replicate apartments, homes, lofts, lounges, a full-service restaurant and even a complete hotel on the upper two floors. The historic Miami Woman’s Club on Bayshore Boulevard is being transformed into Casa Decor Miami ‘06. This landmark building is being brought back from years of neglect to sparkle again as a showcase of striking design. Built in 1925, and designed in 1920s Mediterranean-style, the building was designated an historic site in 1983. For more information, please call: 305.373.3700
