at Amaya Gallery From Apr 14th through May 10th, 2007Amaya Gallery, located in Wynwood Art District, is presenting a solo exhibition by David Humphrey. This show of new paintings explores the peculiar ways people establish attachments to the world and with others. His images reflect unexpected situations in which for instance, a mixed-raced couple stands before an unraveling landscape, a frisk horse mounts an over- sized snowman and a young woman pounds the earth. Humphrey’s spaces organize dynamically around his figures, as if to reflect their feelings and contain their uneasy sense of belonging. His work celebrates the unexpected within the familiar and the familiar within the eccentric. For more information, please call: 917.743.2925
