Main Library. 2nd Floor Exhibition Space Through Aug 10th, 2007The Main Library, located in Downtown Miami is currently presenting an exhibition entitled Everglades Forever featuring Edwin Villasmil and Elba Martinez, who are also environmental activists and educators. After arriving in Miami from Venezuela two years ago, they began a project of obsessive research of the Everglades through the Library System, documenting what they found through art. The result is a fairytale world of line drawings, sculptural installations, made from recycled materials, and graphic novel-style storytelling that parallels Marjory Stoneman Douglas’ River of Grass and recounts the natural, social and cultural history of the Everglades.
