Frédéric Pelassy and Misha Dacic in Concert

Steinway Hall in Coral Gables May 19th, 2007The Chopin Foundation and the Alliance Française de Miami present Frédéric Pelassy, French Violinist, accompanied on piano by Misha Dacic on May 19th, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. at the Steinway Hall located at 4104 Ponce de Leon Boulevard in Coral Gables. The evening’s program will include Mozart KV 301; Brahms 3rd Sonata; Ravel, Tzigane and Bartok, Romanian Folk Dances. Born in 1972, Frédéric Pelassy is considered one of the most prominent French musicians of his generation. Picked out at an early age by Yehudi Menuhin, he has recorded twenty CDs to date and given concerts in fifty countries, in such venues as Salzburg Festspielhaus or Paris Théâtre des Champs Elysées, Kiev Opera or Montevideo Teatro Solis. During the year 2007, his performances will take him in April to Hanoi and Portugal, and in May to the United States. In July, he’ll be in Italy to play the whole of Mozart’s sonatas. In October, he is expected in Bulgaria for concerts and master-classes, then in Germany for a Bach recital. He will tour Canada in November and return to Portugal in December. Misha Dacic was born in 1978 in the former Yugoslavia, into a family with a musical tradition. Dacic first came to public attention at age 11 when he performed a Haydn piano concerto in his native country. Dacic made his American debut in 2003 at the Discovery Series of the Sixth Miami International Piano Festival. That same year, he performed at the “Martha Argerich Project Festival” in Lugano. Dacic is a recipient of support from the Patrons of Exceptional Artists and a special scholarship at the University of Miami. Dacic also received the 2006 University of Miami Alumni Association Student of Distinction Award and was chosen for inclusion in Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities, 2005-2006 edition.
