From Aug 19th through Sept 17th, 2006GableStage presents the Southeastern Premiere of The Pillowman written by Martin McDonagh. With echoes of Stoppard, Kafka and the Brothers Grimm, The Pillowman centers on a writer in an unnamed totalitarian state, who is being interrogated about the gruesome content of his short stories and their similarities to a series of child murders. The result is an urgent work of theatrical bravura and an unflinching examination of the very nature and purpose of art. Warning: This play contains scenes and language that some may find disturbing. Performances will take place from Thursday to Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 and 7:00 p.m. GableStage is located in 1200 Anastasia Avenue, Coral Gables. FL.
