The idea was to engage a group of artists interested in the intersection of craft and art, in a project where months are spent learning a trade and producing. Architecture, pottery, stained glass, furniture design, the production of everyday goods. The articles produced can be replicas of earlier designs or new designs. The materials used can be contemporary materials or older ones. A guild is defined as an association of artisans who work together to keep standards consistent and look after the interests of its members. Guilds have produced furniture, paintings, and knowledge among other things. Ours is a Guild of craft where objects can be misrecognized, and one might be compelled to use a wall as a chair or an axe in a flower arrangement”.
