The institution that has served world visitors to Miami for 70 years, welcomed the new brand direction and name, “HistoryMiami,” during its annual membership meeting attended by board members, community leaders, museum employees and members, as well as area residents. “For seven decades our organization has received significant brand recognition as the leading resource for South Florida history, as well as bringing the community together,” said Robert McCammon President/CEO with HistoryMiami.
The organization is growing and changing instep with the city it showcases. As such, the rebranding is a direct result of those efforts, encompassing the past history which defines Miami as well as the future direction of the city more suitably. “The institution has been synonymous with education, entertainment, preservation and philanthropy,” said David Lawrence, Jr., retired publisher of the Miami Herald. “Now, the coexistence and collaboration of the two most significant pillars form a single name, HistoryMiami, offering visitors and partners a powerful choice for the future of our great city.”
HistoryMiami is committed to gathering, organizing, preserving and celebrating Miami’s history as the unique crossroads of the Americas. Through exhibitions, city tours, education, research, collections and publications, HistoryMiami advocates for helping everyone understand the importance of the past in shaping Miami‘s future.
