From Dec 2nd through Dec 7th, 2008. The week of Art Basel Miami 2008 will play host to a number of independent expositions and exhibits to capture the hearts and minds of today’s most discerning enthusiasts of classic and contemporary art, literature and film. Two of this year’s independent exhibits include In Fashion Photo by Art Photo Expo Miami and the Empire Fine Arts Program by Empire Editions, based in New York City.
Art Photo Expo Miami, South Florida’s progressive organization for contemporary photography, announced its dates for the second annual In Fashion Photo exhibition – a presentation of signature collections from the world’s leading fashion photographers. The exhibition will take place at its new location, Municipal Parking Lot # 54, between NE 2nd Avenue and NE 1st Court in Miami’s Design District, from December 2nd to December 7th, 2008 during Art Basel Miami Beach.
In Fashion Photo will feature an exclusive collection of more than 250 contemporary works of photographic art by more than 35 of the world’s leading icons in fashion photography, on sale to collectors and art enthusiasts throughout the six-day exhibition. Representing more than 15 countries in five continents, some of the most globally esteemed names from the fashion photo world will be exhibiting their work, including Slim Aarons, Michael Thompson, Bettina Rheims, Steve Hiett, Charles Fréger, Jean-Loup Sieff, Arthur Elgort, Solve Sundsbo, Miles Aldridge, Markus Klinko and Indrani, Sofia Sanchez and Mauro Mongielo, Olivia Beasley, Simon Proctor, Alice Hawkins, Bharat Sikka, Erwan Frotin, Alix Malka, Tom Watson, Laurence Schiller and Greg Kadel, among others. This prestigious group of internationally acclaimed photographers is collectively exhibiting the most celebrated work under one roof, establishing In Fashion Photo as one of the most progressive photo expositions in the world today.
The exhibition will also feature a Naomi Campbell Retrospective collection of photography by many of today’s most respected fashion photographers who have captured the model’s elegance and cutting-edge glamour over the years, including David LaChapelle, Gilles Bensimon, Patrick Demarchelier, Mario Sorrenti, Mario Testino, Seb Janiak, Mert and Marcus, Ellen Von Unwerth, Inez and Vinoodh, Miguel Reveriego, Horst Foundation, Simon Harris, Michael Thompson, Bettina Rheims, Giampaolo Sgura and Paul Rowland. The exhibit’s creator and Art Director, Jean Luc Brunel, is a world-renowned modeling entrepreneur, well immersed in the fashion world, having launched both the prestigious Karin Models of France and MC2 Model Management worldwide. This unrivalled collection of work will be exclusively unveiled in person by Naomi Campbell as part of her special visit to Miami for In Fashion Photo on December 2nd, 2008.
The aim of In Fashion Photo by Art Photo Expo Miami is to project a new look at fashion photography, through the presentation of strong and original images from upcoming talent, along with images from the pioneers of fashion photography who are still considered today’s undisputed leaders.
