July 13th, 2006Versatile Sony Classical recording artist, Jubilant Sykes, has won the attention and respect of the world’s finest conductors, symphonies, and opera companies. Jubilant brings a new dimension to the traditional career of the classically-trained baritone by drawing on gospel and jazz influences. The 2005-2006 season is indicative of Mr. Sykes’ versatility. Mr. Sykes will continue his long and artistically dynamic relationship with guitarist Christopher Parkening, as they tour the United States, Japan, and Korea. Mr. Sykes and Mr. Parkening will collaborate on their much-anticipated recording of American and Brazilian music. Mr. Sykes’ latest endeavor is performing in concert with his jazz trio Side Street. The Summer Concert Series presents Jubilant in a recital that explores some fascinating repertoire: from classical and spirituals to early Broadway. This will be a memorable evening! This performance will take place at the Coral Gables Congregational Church located at 3010 De Soto Boulevard, Coral Gables, FL on July 13th, 2006 at 8:00 p.m. For more information, please call: 305.448.7421 x 33
