Born in Tehran and raised in Europe and the United States, Iran Issa-Khan began her photography career in the late 1970s studying with William Minor, Jr. Throughout the 80s and 90s, Issa-Khan photographed supermodels like Paulina Porizkova, Christy Turlington and Iman.
Her portrait retrospective includes designers and their families such as Oscar de la Renta, Bill Blass, the Ferragamo family, the Fendi family, Prince Egon and Diane von Furstenberg, Carolina and Reinaldo Herrera, and Paloma Picasso.
She was responsible for Nancy Reagan’s official White House portrait and she also photographed The Duke and Duchess of Marlborough at Blenheim Palace, President and Mrs. Pastrana of Colombia, Baron David and Baroness Olympia de Rothschild in Paris, and Rufino Tamayo in Mexico.
In 1999, Issa-Khan shifted her focus to nature to capture the beauty found in flora and fauna. Issa-Khan, who lives and works in Miami, has produced a body of work that captures natural forms in their purest expression.
This 162-page book is a long awaited collection of photographs by the artist. With a foreword by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Zaha Hadid, the title is available as an artist edition and a limited edition of 100 copies, which includes a signed art print by Issa-Khan.
