June 3rd, 2006Miami Art Central (MAC) screens the movie Suite Habana. This movie was directed by Fernando Pérez, co-produced between Cuba and Spain and released in 2003. It was described by the press as “neither documentary nor fiction”. Suite Habana is a mixture of the two, moreover collectively portraying a city and its people. It narrates a regular day in the life of ten ordinary Cubans, with nothing special about them. Ten real people who become actors without stopping being themselves and without ever losing sight of reality in this fictional operation. The movie dawn breaks in La Habana, and as the day advances we follow these simple lives , with only sounds and images accompanied by music. For more information, please call: 305.455.3336
