September 22nd, 2006Miami Dade College Cultural Affairs will present a concert featuring the renowned Kronos Quartet as part of their Cultura del Lobo Performane Series. The concert will be held on September 22nd at 8:00 p.m. at the Gusman Center for the Performing Arts in Downtown Miami. Whether performing Webern and Bartok, or their innovative arrangements of works by Jimmy Hendrix, Thelonious Monk and Astor Piazzolla, the Grammy Award-winning Kronos Quartet has been a leading voice for new music for the last thirty years. They are an ensemble of soulful musicians that demonstrate amazing energy, accuracy and a passion for the breadth of their work and eclectic repertoire. With more than five hundred string quartets written or arranged for them, Kronos has performed hundreds of concerts worldwide and can be heard on the soundtracks of films such as Requiem for a Dream.
