The Miami Lyric Opera presents three evenings of concerts featuring a classic: Rigoletto by Giuseppe Verdi. Rigoletto is an opera in four acts (original written in three) by Giuseppe Verdi with libretto by Francesco Maria Piave, based on the play Le Roi s’amuse by Victor Hugo. It was first performed at La Fenice in Venice on March 11, 1851. It is considered to be one of the principal operatic masterpieces of Verdi’s middle-to-late career.
