My Private Art Club: A new Artist Collective

December 09.

This recently opened clubhouse features a gallery for group exhibitions, along with studio space for its resident artists. It is located 3324 North Miami Avenue in Wynwood Art District. The clubhouse currently features contemporary art, multimedia, and installations by 16 MyPAC members.

MyPAC co-founder/coordinator Inez Suen and artist Dan Walker relocated to Miami from Brooklyn to inaugurate MyPAC’s clubhouse along with Miami artists Hilton Luciano III, Juan Griego and Ananda DeMello. Through the MyPAC network, these and other artists wish to unite the local contemporary art scenes of the world. The Miami clubhouse is currently looking for local artists to join the club.

“There has been an explosion of color, performance, film, video, installation, sculpture and painting in past MyPAC shows. It truly excites me to be part of this dynamic endeavor. This group of professional artists have a new desire and energy, it is the best work I’ve seen in quite a while,” says Bruce Stiglich, professor at the Parsons School of Design and co-founder/curator of MyPAC.

With each chapter, where exchange artists exhibit in host cities, more clubhouses will be set up as MyPAC expands its network. Clubhouses will provide a space for artists to interact, share ideas, and showcase artwork. The goal of each chapter is to expose the essence of art from city to city throughout the world.

My Private Art Club is a multi-media, multi-disciplinary organization for artists and supporters, founded in 2008 by Inez Suen and Bruce Stiglich.  Its mission is to facilitate and support cross-city exchange of contemporary artists. Through collaboration the organization gives artists a network in which they can represent their home cities, while exposing the general public to art from around the world.
