Lyle O. Reitzel Miami From Feb 10th through Mar 10th, 2007Lyle O.Reitzel Miami, will feature a solo exhibition by the renown Cuban artist living in Madrid, Carlos Quintana during the Wynwood Art District gallery night on February 10th, 2007. No Temptation is a particular and small collection of paintings, gathering works in a retrospective manner from 1998 through 2006, where the audience can observe the personal trademark of an honest artist who sets upon a broad aesthetic language of his own, which is both straight forward and brutal. The artist, irreverently and almost subversively, embarks upon his fears and the forbidden desires of the sub- conscious, interconnected in some cases with the weakness of the flesh. Carlos Quintana was born in Havana in 1966, he studied painting at the historical academy of San Alejandro and the Instituto de Diseño de La Habana; then he migrates to Madrid and from there his work is exhibited internationally at the most prestigious galleries and contemporary art fairs in Europe, the U.S. and Latin America.
