Exhibition honoring the designer at Ambrosino Gallery September 30th, 2006Ambrosino Gallery in North Miami and the Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida are honoring Costume Designer Jorge Gallardo by presenting an exhibition of original designs made exclusively for Arts Ballet Theatre’s upcoming production, Petrouchka. The gallery exhibit will also include a selection of Mr. Gallardo’s designs for ballets Firebird and Chipollino. In addition to the exhibit, drawings by Jorge Gallardo will be auctioned during the opening reception to benefit Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida. Jorge Gallardo, an international award-winning designer, is a native from Chile. He has spent many years in South Florida, working for local dance companies including Ballet Florida, Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida, Maximum Dance-Ballet Gamonet, Miami Contemporary Dance Company and Miami City Ballet. He has gained international recognition designing costumes for major dance companies throughout the world including American Ballet Theater, Alvin Ailey Dance Company, Ballet Biarritz, Royal Swedish Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Ballet De Nancy, Munich Opera Ballet Company, and Dayton Contemporary Dance Theater.
