August 2nd, 2006Os Mutantes, a psychedelic trio from the heady days of the Tropicalia explosion, has resurfaced. The trio was formed in Sao Paulo in 1966 as part of the cultural revolution which brought together avant garde art and literature, indigenous Brazilian influences and the electricity of 1960s youth culture. Os Mutantes created new sounds by inventing new instruments, and new uses for the electronic gadges of the day. Their music is highly poetic and filled with lyrical melodies while it incorporated noise and distortion. Although they trio broke up thirty years ago, their style continues to influence new generations of artists both inside and outside of Brazil. This concert will take place at the Manuel Artime Theater located at 900 SW 1st Street in Miami, FL on August 2nd, 2006 at 8:00 p.m. For more information, please call: 305.575.5057
