Arts at St. Johns. June 14th, 2008. 8:00 p.m.Arts at St. John's (ASJ) presents a unique concert event that showcases four talented South Florida artists. Singer, Songster features in a musical performance local singers / musicians Kristen Fox, Sam Hosking, Nicole Kidd and Samantha Natalie – who all happen to be accomplished songwriters as well. In a relaxed concert setting these four artists will blend their unique singing styles and songwriting talents as they perform their own original compositions.
Kristen Fox is no stranger to ASJ and has performed in many productions with the Miami Beach non-profit Arts organization. Originally from Boston with a degree from Berklee College of Music, she is a professional singer / songwriter and has performed and sung in many concerts and theatrical productions locally and nationally. Fox is known for her riveting soft rock and pop vocals and is currently working on recording an album of her original works.
Originally from Australia, Sam Hosking started playing guitar as a child. He wrote his first song as a teenager and has been penning songs ever since. Before arriving in South Florida, Hosking traveled and played all over the world in such places as London and New York. He now resides in Fort Lauderdale, where he captains boats and plays his music.
Nicole Kidd, originally from Miami Beach, has a Bachelor in Studio Music and Jazz Vocal from the University of Miami with a minor in Music Business. She has performed with the Florida Grand Opera at the Arscht Center for Performing Arts as well as with the Arts of St. Johns, in its production of “Bible on Broadway“. With a style that is inspirational and uplifting, Ms. Kidd has also performed background vocals for Gloria Estefan at the Grand Opening of Miami’s Carnival Perfoming Arts Center and Michael Buble at the Hard Rock Casino.
A native of Miami Beach, Samantha Natalie’s musical career began at a very young age and she hasn’t stopped. Ms. Natalie has been involved with many musical groups including Miami Beach Senior High School’s Rock Ensemble and is a recent graduate of the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music. She has performed with many jazz / pop artists including Kevin Mahogany, Kurt Elling, and Jon Secada, and has been performing her own original music in the Miami and Ft. Lauderdale area for almost six years. Ms. Natalie released her self-titled EP in June 2007, showcasing her personal jazz-influenced musical style.
