at the Carnival Center for the Performing Arts From Jun 7th through Jul 15th, 2007City Theatre will establish its 2007 summer home at the Studio Theater at the Carnival Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Miami with the 12th Annual Summer Shorts Festival, scheduled for June 7th to July 8th, 2007. The Festival then travels north for its annual residency at the Amaturo Theater at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Ft. Lauderdale, from July 12th to 15th, 2007. The Carbonell Award-winning festival has become a nationally recognized event and “something of a must-see / must-be-seen-there social outing for South Florida audiences,” said J. Barry Lewis, Festival Artistic Coordinator. “Over the past 12 years, City Theater has institutionalized a summer evening of theater- with a breezy Hawaiian-shirt-and-sandals ambiance of on-site dining and social events, matched with some of today’s smartest writing and sharpest theatrical ensembles to hit the stages each season.” 2007 Summer Shorts cast includes Irene Adjan, Antonio Amadeo, Elizabeth Dimon, Ceci Fernandez, Kameshia, Duncan, Brandon Morris, Bechir Sylvain, Stephen Trovillion and Tom Wahl, to be directed by J. Barry Lewis, Desmond Gallant, Margaret Ledford, Stuart Meltzer, Stephanie Norman, James Samuel Randolph, Kim St. Leon and Paul Tei. The production team includes scenic designer Michael Amico, lighting designer Melissa Santiago, sound designer Steve Shapiro, costume designer Erin Amico and property designer Matthew Glass.
