April 8th, 2006Cinema Vortex and the Consulate General of France in Miami present The Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. Selected films from the renowned film festival in Europe will screen in Miami on April 8th as Cinema Vortex and the Consulate General of France in Miami present highlights of the 2005 Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. Known as the world’s premiere showcase for short films, the Clermont-Ferrand Festival is preferred by European cineastes, drawing an audience compared to the Cannes Film Festival. This touring edition of the Clermont-Ferrand Festival is divided into two programs: Films from France and international films. Cinema Vortex will screen the worldwide selection at 1:00 pm and the French films at 3:00 pm on April 8. The selection includes animated films and live action comedies and dramas from Argentina, Israel, Norway,Belgium, India and France. Admission to both screenings is free of charge and open to the public. Both screenings will take place in the Auditorium of the Miami-Dade Main Public Library, located at 101 West Flagler Street in downtown Miami. For more information, please call: 305-614-5700.
