The New Light Studio/Gallery holds its second art exhibition of the 2009 season on Friday, May 29th, 2009 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The exhibition, entitled A Little Neon features new art works by gifted student artists of the New Light Studio as well as new work by their instructors and principal artists Roland Ruocco and Wendy White.

“Sharing our open studio with artists of all ages gives them an opportunity to work in a studio setting where they learn the ways of the creative process,” says Roland Ruocco, resident artist of the New Light Studio/Gallery. A Little Neon also features new artworks by artists Kris Beroldi, Julia Garcia, Theresa Murray, Scarlett Schiraldi, Guilia Venturelli, Debbie Gottlieb, Edna Botero, and resident artists, Wendy White and Roland Ruocco.

Wendy White will be revealing her newest series of Miniature Oil Paintings in her “Abstract Impressionist” style. The miniature paintings are no larger than 5” x 7” and are noted for their high level of detail, texture and color. In these canvases, she incorporates the passion of the modern day expressionists by utilizing the techniques of the old masters, to “paint the light.” White’s atmospheric oil paintings reflect rhythmic waves of light resulting in an outburst of an infinite amount of colors.

Roland Ruocco’s latest works in his New Earth series will be on display. This series communicates hope and the knowledge that we humans are co- creators and masters of our collective reality. “In these works I celebrate the emergence of the sacred feminine along with other marginalized entities such as indigenous people, members of the animal world and the earth itself. Set in the near future the series is inspired by eighteenth century Romantic sensibilities. It depicts ethereal energies, magic, and inter-dimensional connections that lie beyond our limited current mass mindset,” shares Roland Ruocco, resident artist of the New Light Studio/Gallery.
