Ongoing at the Grand Ramp.Monumental nineteenth-century tapestries are on permanent display at the Bass Museum of Art. Pieces in the exhibition include The Start of the Hunt and The Return from the Hunt, designed by French artist Louis-Marie Baader.
This pair of exceptional tapestries, that are prominently showcased in the Grand Ramp of the museum, were woven at the Braquenié atelier in Belgium during the last quarter of the 19th century. The designer, who specialized in mythological and historical scenes, drew his inspiration for subjects of these works from national or local history.
