From Mar 29th through Apr 1st, 2007The festival’s celebration expands throughout Miami and Broward, bringing together women artists from all over the world to explore, share and dialogue about issues concerning women through the arts. Participating films are selected under two main criterias: US Fem-Cinema for filmmakers from or living in the United States and World She-view for the ones who come from other countries. The festival offers a wide selection of feature length films, documentaries as well as short films. Representation of women on films presented to the general public are often less than ideal. The Women International Film Festival provides audiences with the opportunity to see through the eyes of women filmmakers here in the U.S., as well as create a window to themes and aesthetics concerning women’s point of view on issues stemming from across the globe. The event also includes workshops, panel discussions, symposia, and parties celebrating women artists for Women’s History Month. For more information, please call: 954.937.8299
