From June 22 through 28, 2012.
The South Florida Premiere of writer-director Lynn Shelton’s (Humpday) new look at contemporary relationships, Your Sister’s Sister, is starting this June 22 at the Coral Gables Art Cinema.
Your Sister’s Sister is a tale of friendship, love and sibling rivalry that continues to showcase Shelton’s ability to portray human stories with humor, sensitivity and warmth. Your Sister’s Sister stars the funny and luminescent Emily Blunt (The Five-Year Engagement, The Devil Wears Prada), indie actor and filmmaker Mark Duplass (Humpday, Jeff Who Lives at Home and television’s The League), and Rosemarie DeWitt, known for her roles in Mad Men and United States of Tara. The film marries the low-budget aesthetic of the “mumblecore” genre with a slicker nod to classic John Cassavetes to create a slyly winning take on modern romance. The New York Times raves ” A winner…A poignant, witty, brilliantly written and acted film.”
On Thursday, June 28 at 7:00 pm there will be an introduction to Your Sister’s Sister and a facilitated discussion afterwards with special guest Graham Winick, Film and Event Production Manager for the City of Miami Beach and Past President of Film Florida; and Coral Gables Art Cinema Director and Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Robert Rosenberg. They will discuss the “mumblecore” film genre, Miami vs. Seattle and other nifty topics. Film tickets for this event are regular price. The conversation will continue after the screening at the Cinema’s very own Cafe, with post-screening food and drink, including wine and beer, available for purchase.
